My passion for natural soapmaking began as a mission to reduce my family’s exposure to toxins, particularly after my daughter’s experience with cancer. Unsatisfied with mainstream skincare options, I dove into holistic remedies, starting with self-teaching and eventually pursuing more formal herbal studies. What began as a journey to soothe my daughter’s eczema with natural balms and salves has evolved into a full-scale commitment to crafting safe, gentle soaps and shampoo bars for my family and others. Each creation reflects my dedication to health-conscious skincare alternatives made with care for both people and the planet.
With a strong background in education, including over a decade in public education and five years as a homeschool mom, I strive to make learning accessible and engaging. My guide, From Seed to Soap, simplifies the complexities of natural soapmaking, guiding beginners through foundational concepts while offering deeper insights for seasoned soapmakers. The guide cuts through long-winded explanations and is designed to be clear and approachable, condensing useful information into one place so readers can spend more time creating beautiful soap and less time reading and researching.
My love for soapmaking reflects my commitment to thoughtful, purposeful living. I’m thrilled to share this journey with others, inspiring a shift toward wellness through each handmade bar.
